The Art of Sleep
Shown in Ardesia, a slate grey with a quiet violet undertone, taken from wet slate after rain. It gives a bedroom weight without turning it dark, and lets the two lighter colours in the palette stand out against it. The deepest step of Pietra e Cenere.
The piece that sets the tone of the room. Italian cotton sateen with a soft, low sheen, cut generously, closed with a zip along the edge so the duvet stays where you put it. Woven at 305 cm width, so larger sizes have no seam down the middle. The three colours of Pietra e Cenere were chosen so that any two sit together: a pillowcase in one shade, a sheet in another, and the pairing is already checked.

The Fabric
Pietra e Cenere is woven from SMERALDO by Martinelli Ginetto, a 100% cotton sateen made in Italy by a mill that has been weaving since 1947. Thread count 300, 100 g/m²: light enough to breathe, dense enough to feel like something in the hand. The sateen weave floats more threads on the surface, so the fabric has a soft, low sheen rather than gloss, and a smooth face that gets softer with every wash. Softer and smoother than percale at the same thread count; more breathable than polyester satin.
Woven at 305 cm width, so larger duvet covers and sheets come without a seam down the middle. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified: tested free from harmful substances, safe against sensitive skin. The fabric is woven in Italy by Martinelli Ginetto. Each piece is cut and sewn in Trakai, Lithuania.
Please note: this listing is for the duvet cover only. Inner duvet and pillowcases are not included.
Care
Machine wash warm on a gentle cycle, with similar colours. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low or line dry. Iron on medium if you like a crisp finish.
